Piano Lessons

Partner/Buddy Lessons (ages 6-16)

Kids spend half their lesson one-on-one with me, and half the lesson learning with another student. During their joint lesson time, we work on technique, play off-bench theory games, explore improvisation and duets, develop aural skills, and more.

Youth Private Lessons (ages 7-18)

Students take weekly one-on-one piano lessons with me, devoting significant time each week to practice. They receive a personalized curriculum designed to make them well-rounded soloists, sight readers, and ensemble performers.

Group Piano Lessons (ages 4-10)

Group classes for beginners and elementary students available. Class size is capped at 6 students. Kids learn piano in a fun, social atmosphere, while creating a solid foundation of musical knowledge to build on in future. Early childhood "Mini Musicians" group piano classes offered for children ages 4-6, and young beginner "Piano Launchpad" classes offered for children ages 7-10.

Whether you're a brand-new beginner, or returning to the instrument after years away, Lisa will meet you wherever you are help you reach your own musical goals. Learn your favorite popular songs using chords and improvisation, get to know (or revisit!) classical piano repertoire, play soundtracks from your favorite movies, and more. Flexible scheduling and pricing options available.

Adult Private Lessons

Creative piano lessons offered in several formats. Availability is limited. Tuition pricing available on request.

More Learning Opportunities

Duets/Ensembles

Playing with other musicians is essential for developing rhythm, listening, and thinking on your feet when it comes to music. From day one, my students collaborate with each other and me, and in even years, our fall recital is all about duets and ensembles, giving everyone a chance to polish those skills for performance.

Piano Lab

In Piano Lab, a 15-minute add-on to regular lessons, students dive into their own activities that enhance what they’re learning. This time might be spent composing music, working on music history projects, playing games from my collection, sharpening aural skills, using iPad music apps to reinforce learning, and much more!

Students learn better when they get to experience and try things out themselves, so we often jump off the bench and make learning fun with my collection of 100+ games. We improvise and compose regularly, and every other year, our fall recital focuses on creativity and composition to turn all those abstract theory concepts into something real.

We have two studio recitals per year, in fall and spring

Fall recitals are either duet-focused or composition-focused; year-end recitals include an awards ceremony to celebrate student accomplishments

After 2+ years of lessons, under-18 students are encouraged to participate in at least one adjudicated event per year

Three student-only group workshops, called Piano Parties, are spaced throughout the year to celebrate student progress, build community, and increase music appreciation
